About Rachel
Hi there! I’m Rachel, 46 years old, and I live in Asheville, North Carolina, where the mountains are green, the people are kind, and the kitchens always smell like something delicious is cooking. My journey with food has been a joyous one, starting with the very first recipe I ever made with my grandmother.
A First Taste of Magic
I must’ve been seven or eight, standing on a little stool next to her old gas stove. We were making a simple vegetable soup from scratch. I still remember the smell of fresh carrots, onions, and a handful of herbs she insisted we pick from her garden. She showed me how to chop, stir, and taste as we cooked, constantly reminding me that love was the most essential ingredient. That soup might have been simple, but to me, it was magic.

Lessons That Last
Over the years, she taught me so much more—how to knead dough until it’s just right, how to use spices to bring out natural flavors, and how to keep things wholesome and nourishing. Her lessons stayed with me long after she passed, and I carried them into my kitchen as an adult. Now, cooking isn’t just a necessity or a hobby—it’s my therapy, my art, and a means by which I connect with others.
Sharing the Joy
Friends and neighbors often drop by to taste what’s bubbling on my stove. They always ask about the ingredients and directions, scribbling notes on scraps of paper or calling me later to walk them through a recipe again. It warms my heart to know they trust my cooking and want to recreate it in their own homes.

Going Beyond the Neighborhood
One day, I thought, ‘Why not share my recipes with the world?’ Why limit them to just a few blocks when there are so many people out there searching for easy, healthy meals they can make with confidence? I’ll be sharing a variety of recipes, from simple weeknight dinners to special occasion treats, all with a focus on health and flavor. Healthy food doesn’t have to be bland or complicated. It can be vibrant, satisfying, and joyful.
